Toitoi Venues is Hawke’s Bays Arts and Events Centre. Toitoi Venues hosts a variety of events including concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, and
community gatherings.

As a collection of interconnected buildings, patrons encountered significant navigational difficulties, including determining the appropriate entry and route based on visitors’ desired destination within the facility as well as poor addressing and naming conventions. This all led to a sub-par visitor experience.

We adopted a pragmatic approach to information provision within the facility to address these challenges. This involved defining a clear hierarchy of information, and establishing consistent naming conventions across the web, ticketing and within the facility ensuring that relevant information was presented effectively to facilitate confident navigation throughout the venues’ various buildings.
